UOB Visa Signature Card is a credit card that is geared towards someone who does a lot of online shopping or who travels overseas frequently as it gives you more cash rebates on your non-Singapore dollar purchases.
While this card also lets you earn cash rebates on all other spending, its benefits will be of most use to a high-spender. In this review, I'll highlight all the benefits that UOB Visa Signature Card gives you and the requirements you need to meet, so that you can decide whether this card will fit your lifestyle need.

Things We Like About UOB Visa Signature Card
Earn 5% cash rebate on non-SGD spending, petrol purchases and Visa payWave transactions. When you make transactions online or overseas in foreign currencies, you will earn UNI$10 for every $5 spent, which is equivalent to 5% cash rebate. But to qualify for this 5% rebate, you need to spend a minimum of S$1000 in the statement period!
Hidden deep in their T&Cs is that you'll have to pay an extra 2.5% on the amount converted if you use a Visa or MasterCard to pay in foreign currencies. So beware of this charge should you want to pay in a foreign currency.
If you make online transactions or overseas purchases in Singapore Dollars, you will only earn UNI$1 for every $5 spent, equivalent to 0.5% cash rebate.
Your UNI$ can be redeemed for cash rebate from UOB's rewards programme at the conversion rate of UNI$4,000 = $100.
Earn 5% cash rebate on petrol purchases and Visa payWave transactions. You will also earn UNI$10 for every $5 spent on petrol purchases (except at Shell) and Visa payWave transactions, which is equivalent to 5% cash rebate. There's a catch: You need to have a combined minimum spending of S$1000 in the same statement period in order to get this 5% rebate as well!
Earn 0.5% cash rebate on all other spending. You will earn UNI$1 for every $5 you spend in other categories, which is equivalent to 0.5% cash rebate. The best thing is there is no cap to the amount of UNI$ you can earn in other categories. So every time you spend on this card, you will earn cash rebate.
Enjoy complimentary travel insurance. When you pay the entire fare for your travel with this card, you will enjoy public conveyance personal accident coverage of S$500,000 and emergency medical assistance, evacuation and repatriation coverage of up to S$25,000.
Earn rewards on your spending. Other than cash rebate and travel vouchers, you can also redeem your UNI$ for other things you like. UOB has a comprehensive rewards programme, through which you can redeem your UNI$ for shopping and dining vouchers, gifts, air miles and a million other things. Our Least Favourite Things About The UOB Visa Signature Card
Minimum annual income required is $50,000. To be eligible to apply for this card, you need to make at least $50,000 or more a year.
Combined maximum cash rebate you can earn from online spending, petrol and Visa payWave transactions is $100 (UNI$4000) per statement period.
No complimentary access to VIP airport lounges. Strictly speaking, this is not just a travel credit card. But with a higher income requirement, this is card only gives you complimentary travel protection. Many travel credit cards give you complimentary access to VIP airport lounges and even limousine services.
UOB Visa Signature Card is card that specifically gives you higher rewards points which you can convert to cash rebates when you spend at least S$1,000 per month on non-SGD purchases, petrol and Visa paywave transactions. If you don't chalk up spending in these categories, you're better off with UOB One Card which rewards you on all your spending when you hit the minimum spending.
UOB Visa Signature Card also gives you some complimentary travel insurance even though you still need to pay for access to airport lounges, while some other travel credit cards in Singapore give you complimentary airport lounge access and even limousine services.
UOB Visa Signature Card works better for those who spend a lot on foreign online shopping websites and those who drive a lot. If you spend at least $1k on non-SGD spending per month, this card will be especially rewarding for you.
